Woburn, MA_ _ April 29 ,1992_ _ Computervideo announced it’s “TV Encoder” when
interfaced to Apple’s Quadra 700 and 900 computer platforms offers the ability
to display on a NTSC or PAL TV/monitor and record onto video tape flicker free
presentations in 256 colors. This process is called Apple Convolution. The TV
Encoder also supports 16 million colors NTSC and PAL video output but without
convolution. This ability to display and record flicker free graphics on
standard consumer and studio Television / monitors and VCR’s was previously
only available with the use of very expensive scan converters costing up to
$10,000.
TV Encoder works with all software i.e. animation, 3D, rendering, Hyper Card,
presentation, QuickTime etc. Applications include but are not limited to;
corporate, educational and government presentations recorded to video tape or
presented live to large screen TV/monitors or through video projection systems.
Installation of the stand alone device is done in seconds. The TV Encoder input
plugs directly into the Quadra’s on board video output connector using the
existing monitor cable. The TV Encoder output simply plugs into a TV/monitor
or VCR using the supplied cable.
TV Encoder is also compatible with all Macintosh II family computers when
interfaced to Apple’s 8•24, 8•24GC and most other 8 and 24 bit NuBus video
display and capture cards which support the standard 640 x 480 Apple Macintosh
13” Hi Res color monitor. Contact Computervideo for a list of compatible third
party manufacturers NuBus video display and capture cards which work with the
TV Encoder.Suggested retail pricing for the TV Encoder is $395.00.
